True Taste Awards

Now in their 11th year, Wales the True Taste Food & Drink Awards have established themselves as an exacting benchmark of quality and taste. One tie that loops all competitors together is the passion and commitment for producing their products for consumers to enjoy and come back for more.

2010

Gold Award – Export Success

2011

Silver Award – Capestone Organic Whole Chicken

2012

Silver Award – Capestone’s Paradise Loin of Lamb with 5 Fruit Stuffing.

Bronze Award – Spatchcock Poussin Marinated in Four Pepper & Anglesey Sea Salt

2012 comments:

“What makes this piece of lamb stand out is the stuffing within – an unusual mixture of apricot, garlic, seasoning and minced lamb. It is a well presented product which is easy to carve and easy on the palate.”
“Poussin is the pride of Capestone. Judges were delighted with the succulence of this product that arrives at your table already gently seasoned. The chicken is spatchcocked by the producer to allow an even cook through of the meat in a shorter amount of time, which adds to its wonderful flavour.”

As one of our proudest accolades so far, this prestigious award reflects the overall ambition, dedication and generations of life-long commitment from the Scale Family and wonderful team.

“The Awards are the Countryside Alliance’s annual celebration of rural produce, skills, enterprise and heritage through our small hard-working businesses. They are now in their eighth year and have become the definitive rural business award to win.”

Pig and Poultry Awards

Winning such a prestigious award as this has been one of the many highlights of Capestone so far.

“The Awards are designed to reward production excellence, marketing communications and knowledge transfer. They also provide a great opportunity to celebrate innovation in this industry, a sector that is possibly more innovative than other parts of the agricultural sector.”

2013

Poultry Producer of the Year – Winner

In this hard fought category, Capestone stood out as an excellent example of a successfully growing business, and a business model that has obviously had a lot of time and effort spent on marketing and building relationships with customers, in a difficult and specialised market. Good commitment to local community and awareness of their impact on the environment, made them a “quality, innovative company, and Poultry Producer of the Year no doubt,” said the judges.

2013

Processor of the Year – Commended

“This is a good business with solid development,” said the judges, “which has achieved significant listings given the scale of business.”
